Some people made some decent picks this week, I was not one of them. A couple of upsets and a couple of close games that went the wrong way for me contributed to me plummeting in the rankings. As always the straight up picks are in bold and the spread picks are italicized.
Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars +3.5
Jacksonville is horrible and Indianapolis looks to be on their way to a wildcard spot in the AFC.
New York Giants@ Cincinnati Bengals +4.5
Cincinnati has been disappointing all season long and the Giants have played extremely well most weeks, not as of late but they are due to have a big game.
Tennessee Titans @ Miami Dolphins-6.5
Going up against the worst defense in the league should be fun for a rookie quarterback who needs to re-gain his confidence. Miami’s defense should do a pretty good job of keeping Chris Johnson under wraps.
Detroit Lions@ Minnesota Vikings +2.5
Minnesota is in a downward spiral and Detroit has been playing much better recently than the beginning of the season. Percy Harvin is out for this game and he has been half of the offense in recent games with Adrian Peterson being the other half. Minnesota will need a lot of offense to keep up with the Lions.
Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots-11.5
New England has an extremely powerful offense and Buffalo likes to make mistakes on offense. New England’s defense should do just enough to keep their offense ahead by a couple scores.
Atlanta Falcons@ New Orleans Saints +2.5
The Falcons are undefeated and are a complete team. The Saints have a great offense and a poor defense. Atlanta should be able to continue their winning ways.
San Diego Chargers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers-3.5
The Chargers started the season on a good note and have folded like they often do. Tampa has started to live up to their pre-season hype, especially Doug Martin.
Denver Broncos@ Carolina Panthers +3.5
Carolina has some great talent, but has been making a lot of mistakes on offense and defense. Denver’s only issue since the beginning of the season has been putting together some new faces against some tough competition. The Broncos could win out.
Oakland Raiders @ Baltimore Ravens -7.5
Baltimore is looking to extend their AFC North lead because without Lardarius Webb and Ray Lewis it is going to be hard to secure wins against teams with great offenses.
New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks -6.5
Seattle is a great team at home, Russell Wilson is an amazing quarterback at home. New York should be able to make it a close game but winning is probably out of the question.
Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles-1.5
Both teams have been a whirlwind of destruction, I’ll take the home team for this battle of the NFC East misfits.
St. Louis Rams @ San Francisco 49ers -11.5
The 49ers are a great team, St. Louis is getting Danny Amendola back and that is enough to keep them within a score, but they shouldn’t beat San Francisco.
Houston Texans @ Chicago Bears-1.5
Chicago has the most complete defense in the game, if they run the ball enough times they should be able to cash in on some short fields without making too many mistakes.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Pittsburgh Steelers-12.5
Pittsburgh should dominate Kansas City, their offense is anemic and the Steelers are good at putting away poor teams.
This week I got a paltry 7 straight picks correct and only 5 against the spread. This puts me ranked 121,859th and in the 79.6th percentile for the straight picks and ranked 30,306th and in the 79.7th percentile against the spread on ESPN. Falling fast.
